Its that time of year again- last Sunday Zoey and I took the honey off our bees – both hives had 2 full boxes of super frames full of honey but probably fair to say her hive was more productive.
Now was the time to extract it out and after a long (and I mean long process) we have 27 lites of honey.
This was the first time we used the heated uncapping tray – it had it’s advantages with collecting all the honey but it was a bit messy. We have learnt from it (have the bucket very close to the tray and us muslin cloth to filter it). But overall we did get more.
Zoey was really helpul and put in a lot of effort to uncap it and spin the frames.
